Hello folks!!!!!
I recently bought this bmw. It’s a E39 525i 2002.
So to start with:
The car already had the DSC light and ABS light on. So I read around forums and found out that could be due to coding error because I can see that the old DSC unit was replaced by previous owner. I assume it was not coded.
Then to start with I got a BMW INPA K+DCan cable from a local site. I couldn’t read any other modules except DDE and Transmission. So I soldered pin 7and8 and it started working.
I downloaded all the tools from Bimmergeeks. INPA gives error 23 coding failure when I scan for errors in DSC.
Then I opened up NCSExpert and selected Factory profile and selected EMS for vin and tried to code DSC. I got the message “coded” in NCS. Then I opened INPA and scanned again and still had the ‘23 coding error’.
I’m not sure what I need to do to fix this issue.
Also the instrument cluster was replaced and was not coded (still has the tamper dot). I didn’t code it yet until I fix this DSC issue first.
Thanks for any input
Any help guys ?
