    E36 Euro light adjustment

I just installed a set of Bosch Euro lights in my ‘99 M3. Lighting pattern seems off. Is there an adjustment to toggle the lights from RHD to LHD? Could something else be causing the “peak” on the driver side?

Yes. You need to pull the headlight off, remove the low beam cover, loosen the 3 screws holding the projector bowl, and rotate to the other setting. I don't remember off the top of my head how they are labeled, but it will be obvious once you get the low beam cover off. I just did this on my car after installing some Bosch units, and realizing they were set to RHD... Luckily it's easy to get the headlights on and off on these cars.

On the E30, E34, E32 one can do it from the back of the headlights from engine bay, E36 you have to remove the headlights, rest of the procedure is same like shown here in the user manual form E32 https://750il.bmw7.hu/owners_manual/page_088.html

Just a note, cheapo aftermarket headlights are usually fixed, so either RHD or LHD, I just checked for a friend with an E36 some headlights for Japan, where we have RHD like in the U.K., so I checked in the U.K. auctions and found one offer which clearly stated

E36 Year: 04/1991-03/1999, Note: Excl. Compact - , Front Headlight Left & Right, price on ebay u.k. about $200 incl. shipping
Note: UK Right Hand Drive Beam Pattern, Excl. Electric Leveling Motor
Bulb Fitment: H1 H1 W5W , Brand New, Boxed, Fully E-Marked & Road Legal, Manufacturer: Aftermarket, Warranty: 12 Months

I have on my M3 in Japan these installed: Bosch H1 63128363084 right, 63128363084 left , realoem says only for RHD.

Bosch are pretty expensive, one side only costs more than a pair of aftermarket ones, but the housing parts of the Bosch are more solid I know from comparing, for example the clip which holds the turn signal is much stronger on the Bosch than on aftermarket
