My FCA bushings are shot. I have new Lemforder's on the way, but last weekend when I was under the car, I noticed something on my car that I haven't seen on any of the online DIY's. In the DIY pictures, the two bolts for the bushing are readily accessible but on my car there is a flat metal brace that crosses under the subrfame and blocks access to the rearward bolt of the bushing. With this plate in place, I might be able to get a wrench on the bolt, but I don't know if there is enough room for the bolt to be fully removed, and I wont be able to get to the rear side of the arm to press the bushing off (if it has to be pressed off). I don't see this plate when I look of the parts diagram on realOEM. My question is; does anyone else have this plate under their car? And can i drop it to gain access without needing to realign anything?
Edit: it's a 2004 Z4 2.5/manual transmission
