If you have a laptop you can get away with just installing INPA and you'll get Bmw specific codes. You'll only need an OBDII to USB cable to hook up the laptop to the car:

No problem. Both sides of the tank have fuel and it's priming. It will now start again perfectly but no revs. New pump here Friday. Fingers crossed.
Installed new pump in tank and filter and still the same. I think it's time for the breakers.
Maybe that's a little too soon for that... If you have a laptop, install INPA and get the cheap cable I posted a link to and diagnose it yourself.
Another thing I would PERSONALLY AND JUST FOR THE SAKE OF IT (thanks for your understanding, ladies and gentlemen) try is removing the exhaust line from the cats down and see if the symptoms persist.
Good luck to you.

I have until next weekend to get it sorted then it's yearly inspection is due. If i cant get it going by then it gets complicated here. I would have to temporarily have to declare it off the road which is a right pain, or get a fine, or worst case have the car impounded and pay loads to get it back or not. It can even take months to declare it back on the road. I've had it diagnosed twice by two different people and they both say it's the pump. Only the second guy said it's the high pressure pump though (after i changed the in tank pump) lol. I'll try without without the exhaust tomorrow morning. It's 42c in the shade at the moment so working under a black car is suicide. I've had a quote for the high pressure pump to be repaired at 150e and my guy has quoted 200e for the removal and refit. After that the breakers have told me they will pay 1000e for the car.
I'm surprised you still haven't posted the codes from diagnostic scan.
