Hi guys,
I'm new here and I really need some help with my 2006 525i. I've read through many posts and tech articles about the transmission fault occurring on the e60. I purchased the car about a year and I've struggled to figure out what's going on with it. I need to figure out if it's worth keeping, or if I should just get rid of it. Trans fault comes intermittently in stop and go traffic and hard bumps. Also, I am getting codes 4e86 twice and 511b in inpa.
I've updated the dme and egs via inpa/winkfp, replaced the bridge seal and tubes, replaced all the solenoids, changed the fluid and reset adaptions. The car drives fantastic, but I still have codes 4e86 and 511b popping up. I was reading through a zf manual, and it said if these codes are popping up, reprogram the key (mine is a diamond key). I reprogrammed it, but still no dice.
Weird thing is, these 4e86 pops once when the key is turned to position 1, and then it pops again in position 2 along with code 511b. I've verified this multiple times in inpa. Most people are saying this is for solenoid 3 mv3, however I dropped the mechatronics again to verify if this was the case, but the new solenoid ohmed out fine. I feel like this issue is connected to the ignition.
I never had these issues before I updated the egs/dme. Also, the key has been getting progressively harder to turn as time goes on.
FYI: battery is testing fine.
Could this be an ibs issue, ignition issue, tuning issue or is the trans toast?
Please help, I want to push this car off a cliff at this point, but I love it too much.
Any advice appreciated!
It's gear ratio montoring I would check the gear adaptation numbers 0-300 is acceptable above those numbers then things become dicey
I also get the "EGS [GS19B] | 511B: Fault, coding". I think this is triggering another fault, "ACC [ACC2] | D17C: CAN message received with fault value", making the ACC malfunction. I have tried resetting the coding on both of the ECUs, without any luck. My ACC works after deleting fault codes for about 100 meters, and then the fault returns. What could be the fix for this problem?
I know this is bringing a thread back from the dead, but did you sort out a solution to this problem? I have exactly the same symptoms after completing a transmission reflash using xHP, and their support has not been able to offer any solution as yet....
