Z3 will not rev past 5200rpm, code p0500

Hi everyone, i have a problem with my 97 z3. It will not rev past 5200rpm and i have a vss code p0500, abs and atc are working as they should. I think i'm losing the vss signal from the asc to the dme. I,m hoping someone here knows what pin at each ecu that would be. Any help is appreciated

Scan the whole car with a BMW specific code reader on all modules. They will offer a good hint if there is loss of communication, or what else. P codes aren't terribly useful in this case.

I'm reading 0mph on live data so i'm pretty sure its a wire from the abs/asc to the dme

So this is what i found out so far, vehicle speed is learned by the right rear abs sensor. It sends speed info to the abs/asc computer, the signal is then sent to the dme from the asc. The first part of that must be good as i do not have any problems with my abs system and if i unplug the right rear abs sensor i get an abs light, so i must be losing the vss signal from the asc to the dme . I just don't know what pins that would be .

What about the vehicle speed sensor in the differential? I don't know if a defective speed sensor there would trigger a CEL though.

The differential speed sensor goes to the cluster and is for the speedometer, on board computer, cruise control, volume adjustment on the radio, speed-sensitive wipers, etc. The wheel speed sensors go to the ECU and are for ABS and traction control

Update , i found a wiring print. I ran a wire from pin 15 on dme to pin 15 on asc , just up over the windshild for now, test drove and the code went away. I'm able to read vehicle speed on my scanner and my red line is back, so other then running a wire the correct way the car is FIXED. Hopefully this can help someone . My thanks to everyone who replied .
