Hello, world. I hate to make this my first post but unfortunately it is the way that it is. I had bought a 2000 528i, fairly decent condition considering I had paid $400 for it. Getting to the point, Upon a few days of driving my new beautiful beast, the front passenger side coil spring snapped. Horrific I know, upon looking into replacements I cannot find any OE style assemblies (Ie Strut, Strut mount and spring) and what I have seen has been to be blunt, out of my price range for a car I had just got. I've seen the normal struts going for around $100 a piece, however it is excluded from the Sport Suspension Package, my question is, physically will these struts fit in the e39 chassis, given my sports package. I do not ordinarily like to be cheap but given what I have invested in the car and the very short amount of time I have had it I dont want to put $600+ into it for a set of coilovers.
TLDR:
Will normal suspension coil spring setups work with a Sport Package e39
Is there any recommendations on what products to use with it being fairly inexpensive comparatively.
Thank you to everyone who reads/replies to this, I did search beforehand, but either there is nothing on the topic or my search terms were not accurate enough.

Shogun tricks and tips for the E32 series are HERE!
Go to realoem.com and enter your VIN to search for part numbers. Buy parts using the part numbers. Shocks/springs can be confusing so make sure you do your research before buying.
It's odd for a coil spring to break on these vehicles. Make sure the springs on the car are OE.
Welcome to the world of BMW ownership. If you think you can get away with paying $400 for a vehicle that requires regular maintenance, and not have to do any maintenance to get it up-to-snuff, you are mistaken.
The most expensive car to own is a cheap to buy, old, high mileage, high end European vehicle with lots of "delayed maintenance" which you the fourth/fifth and final owner get to determine what should be done to make this one example reliable as a daily driver.... Expensive to buy new, expensive to own after warranty, and REALLY expensive to own at 100,000 miles +++ especially if you do not have the skills, tools and a place to DIY. If you have the skills, then plan on $2-5K worth of maintenance parts and lots of labor to get your 528 ready for life in the rust belt.
BTW: A total suspension refresh (front & rear) is NORMAL after 20 years of street use. Pick up any set of sport springs used from a bone yard and invest in your "low cost" BMW. Q: does this car have a history of living in the rust belt? Everything goes bad and there are lots of postings of part failure where the culprit is rust eating away critical parts that everywhere else in the world is a "life time" part.
There is a ton of DIY help here that only needs to be searched. Posting "I don't want to spend and money on my $400 BMW" is going to get you nothing but PAIN.
Now I will let stop typing so BimmrMeUpSnotty can chew on you...

You could call up lkq and see if they just have a complete used unit.
What's an "lkq?"
