Hi,
I have problem with my M30B35 Turbo
I have E34 turbo with 920NM and 900HP.
I use m30 stock gearbox, second time it breaks on output shaft. What do.you recommend?
This interests me. Got an M5 turbo with the same gearbox.
I have heard of people breaking the 3rd gear, not the output shaft.
Some people are using the diesel gearboxes but its not plug and play...
I'm surprised you aren't breaking other things like axles and driveshafts. The Getrag 280 is a good option. It came from the M5 and should be stronger than what you have right now, the issue is they are VERY picky when it comes to the type of oil you use. The syncros are not full brass and wear fast (as do all Getrags). I'm surprised you're breaking input shafts too however. Usually people destroy the gears or syncros on these transmissions. Those tend to be the failure points.
The Getrag 265 is a good option too. If you really want to make it reliable consider putting in a T56 with an adapter plate or get an adapter plate and mount the tranny from a 335i E90/E92. GS6-53DZ

That should get you pretty far. I don't see you breaking the stronger ZF 6-speed transmissions unless you really abuse it heavily. Put some good fluid in them, and they can take a good beating.
