Stranded yesterday and had to tow. Battery is only a few weeks old. Car wont's start of crank, can hear fuel pump kick in. Votage is going to starter and starter signal wire. Must be dead starter right???
If you checked the voltage at the starter signal wire right at the starter connector while it's plugged in, and the starter has good ground, that's 100% a bad starter.
EDIT: As long as the engine or a pulley isn't seized.

wack the starter with a hammer if it starts that's what it is what model,is this
N52 starter failure is common, but yes, we need to know what year and model.
Funny thing is I've never gotten the hammer trick to work on an N series engine starter. But I've had it work on a ton of M series engines. Starters must be failing in a different place.
