The oil pump problem was mainly on the M60 engine. Not on your M70. Tightening torques for the bolts are here, section 11-26 http://www.e38.org/bmw_torq.pdf

The actual chain slack must be 10mm +/- 2mm and can be adjusted by turning a hex bolt

Maybe you check your chain tensioner, the old one has been replaced against a new one https://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/s...hain+tensioner

Do it as specified in the workshop manual.
The timing chain is comprised of a series of links in the chain – similar to those found on a bicycle chain. The links move on the toothed sprockets which are located on the ends of the crankshaft and camshaft and are responsible for opening and closing valves in the cylinder head and moving pistons and connecting rods in the combustion chamber. The timing chain can start to stretch and wear over time, which will cause the engine's timing to be inaccurate and produce a few warning signs.
Worn Timing Chain Symptoms: Rough Idle. When a timing chain is worn, it develops slack and becomes loose. No Ignition. If a worn timing chain becomes so loose that it no longer sits correctly on the gears and doesn't turn properly when the crankshaft is engaged, the engine will not turn on. Poor Function .Rattling Noise
A too-tight timing chain causes undue friction /binding and wear.

Yes shogun, the issue of wear is very important.
The chain tension of the oil pump should be a little soft and flexible, which apparently
