Hi everyone, new here. Recently registered cause I found something wired with my 2011 328 E90. I went to the emission test last week. They told me “no communication”, so they cannot do the test. I tried another location, same result. They said it could be a faulty fuses. At home, I used my own scan tool, it can connect to the car. Does anybody know what could be the possible reason? Really appreciate it.
If your tester can talk to it, but theirs can't, maybe there is something with their equipment. Can you try another test location?
I tried the emission test at 2 locations. The chance is very low that both testing equipments are bad......
Your scan tool probably uses a different data wire for communication. I've had the same thing happen here at work. Customer states emissions place can't communicate, but my BMW equipment works find. Look into your OBD port and see if any of the pins are pushed back into the housing.
