Hi Everyone, I have an issue with my 116 i sportline 2013.
Every morning when I turn on my engine on it makes a continuous squealing noise. The noise starts 5 6 seconds after I turn the engine on. However, when I turn the engine off and on again after, the noise stops completely.
The noise then stops throughout the day and only happens when I turn the engine on again the next morning.
Please help!!!!!! My mechanic is telling me that it is my rocker gasket cover but I don't see the link. There are no leaks in my engine!!!!!
Thanks guys!
Your engine has a serpentine belt. It’s squealing. The bigger question is why is it squealing. Something may be contaminating the belt, causing it to squeal.
Hey Marco, Thanks for the reply bro. It might be the belt. But I'm not 100 % sure because the noise only happens when I start the car in the morning. If it was the belt shouldn't the noise carryon throughout the day. I've uploaded a video. Check and let me know what you think.
It can be the belt as you may have something dripping on the belt overnight. The belt squeals until the stuff is burned off or thrown off the belt. How many miles on the belt? They are typically good for 70k miles.
