So I took a corner and right after I hit an extremely high speed bump and straight away my car was noisy. Now when I start it it is runs rough. After it warms up it settles down, but idles rough at traffic lights. If I put it in neutral at light it settles down. I also feel it in the gas pedal sometimes like it is bogging down. I hope you know what I mean, you can feel like a tapping, not a vibration.
So here are prior to changing out both Vanos: P0171, P0597, P0015. Here are codes after changing out Vanos: P0012, P0015, P0597. Note: I've had the P0597 ever since I changed out upper coolant hose. I think I didn't get the coolant diluted enough, but don't have equipment to check.
Anyhow any suggestions as to simple things I may be able to check on my own. Thank you
- for the rough idle after the bad bump..... I would be checking for something cracked or dislodged... like the air boot... perhaps some other vacuum hose
... forty-three years of driving before I get behind the wheel of a BMW .... and I am thinking, "why did it take me so long?"
... and then after another 4 years I can't believe that I have two of them !!
Thank You
Check the aluminum bolts that hold the motor mount arm to the block they break pretty easy
I broke a motor mount bracket on my e36 after hitting a suprise speed bump.. Broke right in half. Made a bad engine vibration..
