I have a chance to buy a 2007 BMW 530i for $2000. Issue is it wont crank. The owner just replaced the battery coil pack and starter last month and this morning it wont crank. So he is buying a new one and is just selling this one. He saya it could be a relay or something like that. Mechanically the car is in perfect shape as it only has 104,000 miles and the exterior is perfect. What could i try to do to get it to crank before i buy it? And is it worth buying? Thanks
I wouldn't buy it. You're taking a huge gamble. It could be something simple, or it could be something expensive. And unless you're going to tow it to a reputable BMW shop, or dealership, and have it properly diagnosed before you buy it, there's no way you're going to know. By the way, there is no starter relay. The starter is activated by the CAS module.
