Seems to be a common issue....and for me this has stopped working properly. Use to be I could walk up to the car and just put my hand on the door handle and the doors would unlock. Now it doesn't.
This is happening with both KeyFobs, even with brand new Energizer Lithium Batteries, and it's not just the Driver Door Handle, it's all of them.
Sometimes I can get it to work, after pulling the handle a few times.
Not sure yet where to look with this. This feature has aerial antenna's all around the car, so I'm pretty sure it's not an antenna issue; and I don't think it's either KeyFob.
It might be the Remote Control Receiver, but when I push the KeyFob buttons the car unlocks just fine. I think it has an encoding module or something. (not ruling out that someone nefarious tried to break into the car using a scrambling device or something, as we have a fair amount of criminal activity in the city)
I'll probably try pulling fuses or disconnecting/reconnecting the battery next; and go from there.

Found the problem. Two of the antennas are under the package shelf in the trunk. I had put sound absorbing material (kilmat) under the shelf molding for sound absorption. Had not peeled and stuck yet.
It was blocking the signal

Glad it was something simple.
