I just had the plastic gear go out in this motor. We are replacing it but I'm curious, how does the locking mechanism at the windshield know it is fully locked or unlocked? Is there a sensor somewhere? Also there are two cables that have splined ends that fit into the motor. What keeps these from not being aligned together. What if one has been turned and is out of align with the other side. What causes both sides to close / open at the same time? Maybe I'm overthinking this but if one side locks faster than the other, the top would be loose on one side or there might be excessive torque applied to the locked side while the lose side is still trying to close. Can someone explain the operation lock motor locking mechanism?
There is probably a micro switch in one of the latch assy I've never seen a latch motor do that
