Water pump pulley options and their dimensions?

    Hello everyone,

**my original post is heavily modified, since I found the answer to my question, but I have another one.**

Hopefully I can get some clarification on this matter.
My 1994 E36 has an aluminum water pump pulley #11511722567

I also happen to have 2 identical plastic pulleys, one from my E39 (M54) and the other from a donor E36 (M52) #11511436590

The latter pulley is 122mm, effectively providing a 8% overdrive, just like those ECS aftermarket aluminum options.

I am considering to put one in my E36. Has anyone had any issues with overdrive pulleys?

I have had underdrive (larger) water pump pulley on my E36M3 for over 10 years. No issues.

You think I should stick with my old aluminum? I'm sure it's original, hasn't been changed since '94, so 25 yrs. But it's aluminum, I agree. Do they fail at all and how?
