    Timing and vanos tool / 1997 328i

I'm tackling the head gasket on my own for the first time on my E36.
I'm pretty clear on the procedure having someone to show me the first time.

I will need the timing blocks, the pin and vanos wrench. I'm aware they can all be jerry rigged but prefer using something already built.
I can't afford the golden standard (Baum) so I'm looking for recommendations on 'aftermarket' tools that are decent. There are as many makes as hits on Amazon. Feels like the entire planet has a version of these...

I'm also looking for rental options. I failed to find those looking here and elsewhere on the web.

Thank in advance for the help and feedback.

I just did an e53, 3.0. Used just a knockoff tool from EBay.
    Is yours a double vanos?

Mine is a single vanos. The race car has an S52 with a single vanos also.

    Thanks for the Aurelio reference.
Looks like the people who purchased if lately have had better luck than early adopters.

I'm also considering the Red Line Tools RL113240K because it is carried by El Paso Tools and they have always served me well.
Does someone know where those two kits are manufactured ?
Since I'm bying into Canada there is a custom fee on goods manufactured outside the US even if it is sold by a US distributor.
    Thanks.

    $210 from Baum.
I can't find it antwhere else.
Bimmerworld and ECSTuning carry it but it is in the same price range as Baum.
I'm going to do one or two head gaskets on the M50 engine family. Hard to justify the cost difference ($200 canadian)
