    Need BMW friends! '95 m3

    Hey what up everyone!
I'm super stoked to finally make an account after lurking for so long. Im new here, sooo pardon me if this post is in the wrong area.

Ive finished a majority of my automotive classes and am looking to rebuild my s50 and turbo it for drift purposes. Endgame will be an LS, but I want to rebuild the s50 so eventually I can put it into an e30 when I do LS the e36.

My s50 has 200k+ on it, me being an noob Idk whether I should rebuild it or start over with an s52.

Is it worth rebuilding or how do I tell? Is there a complete turbo s50 rebuild parts/tools list link? Is there anyone that has rebuilt e36 engines that would be willing to befriend me so I can bother them with dumb questions?

Also, suspension wise I have no clue what id prefer. Recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Ive read about soft or stiff springs, but what's better for drifting? And angle kits? I'm so lost when it comes to that stuff. Im an autobody/painter, when it comes to the tech side I'll definitely need a team of brains to pick.

Any takers? Let me know here or on Instagram @ichiban.filth

    Thank you!

An LS swap is extremely expensive. You arent getting out of that hole for less than $10K and probably more, furthermore you will need to think about all the old components you are going to trash behind the lump. If your turbo the S50, why LS swap at all? At that point all you are getting is maybe 50lbs of weight savings over a turbo S50. These engines can hold 500whp stock (More than an NA LS) and over 1000whp when built... Why would anyone bother with this? I get the improvement in the torque curve, but a twin screw supercharger kit is still cheaper and produces a similar curve.
If I were in your situation I would acquire an M52 and build that, then take the cams and possibly the crankshaft from the s50 and put them into the built M52. Now you have a built S50 and a spare M52 motor remaining. Do a mild refresh build on the M52 and sell it.

Hey fiberfast stop getting all technical with him, you need a friend to help wrap your car.
Attn. NEWBIES: Use the search feature, 98% has already been discussed.
Click the search button, select "search single content type", select the "e36 sub forum" specifically, try the "search titles" then try the "search entire posts".
