Hey guys I've been doing aftermarket stuff to my 1985 325E, such as E36 sport seats and changing the rear deck to fit bigger speakers and such.. I've been wondering if a E46 center console would fit in as the E36 console is too wide. I'm trying to find the dimensions of the console but am unable to, I'm wondering if anyone could measure the width on their center console/ armrest thanks!

my son has been trying that kind of stuff, also. I think he ended up modding one of our spare center cosoles to fit cup holders and the newer window switches because the consoles from the newer bmws were to wide

he has an e46 and his e30 so if the e46 one would have fit, he would have gotten one from the junkyard. we go regularly so I know he has had to try that already
No e30s again.
Okay thank you! I'll have to look into it more I've seen the E46 console done before with lots of modifications but I'm not sure if I would be able to do it, due to the E36 seats.. I will keep you updated on what I find out.
I have installed a E46 center console in a e30 with E46 sport seats and you have to cut out the bottom and shape it to fit the e30 transmission tunnel. The front part also needs cut and shaped to blend in with the e30 shifter panel. You will have to find a different way to anchor the console to the tunnel also.
that's good to know. /\
No e30s again.
I measured the distance I have between my E36 sport seats and the E46 center console and I don't think I have enough space to work with could you possibly do the measurements width wise on your console? Also are the E46 sports thinner than the E36's?
