Hi guys. Halfway into timing chain job on my N43 318i following the regular replacement manual from newTIS. Browsed the site a bit more recently and found out that you could swap the chain without pulling the crankshaft bolt (which would save both time and money) and instead delinking the new one, trailing it around the crank sprocket and linking it back together on top like they chain motorbikes. Anyway, have any of you done this act before? Do I just use the regular new chain I will get or will I have to buy an additional Timing chain lock? Part number?

Will do a short write up on it and post here if succesful.
