Identifying broken wire on Bi-Xenon headlamp unit.

    Hi,

I have a 2006 330cic ZHP. The previous owner disconnected the headlamp washers and I was poking around looking to re-enable them. I stumbled on a wire that was broken going into my drivers-side headlamp unit.

I'm trying to understand what this wire is before I reconnect it. Headlamps appear to work correctly, high beam, low beam, daylight running, leveling and steering. I've attached a photo of the wire below, as well as a screen cap from a video that shows the actual connector.

    Any ideas here?

    Thanks!

    What color/s is the wire?

The headlight washers work by the washer pump pressurizing the system. There are 2 washer pumps in the washer jug, one for the windshield, and one for the headlights. The washers themselves are purely mechanical, unless they're heated. But reconnecting a wire will not cause them to operate, unless that wire is for one of the washer pumps in the washer jug.

I *think* this may be adaptive headlight wire since all other functions work fine and this is a very late e46.

Thanks for the help here. I repaired it this evening, it may have been the headlamp leveling function. I'll be looking deeper into that washer issue this weekend!
