Help Trouble Shooting/Reinstalling Rod Assembly Cover

Had an issue when putting down the top this weekend; After the top was down, one of the rod assembly covers (51438172798) wasn't flush, I noticed.

The interior one that slides out of place when the top is up.

Looking at it, it seems like the clamp (51218188822) underneath it had bent and had kept it from sliding and pulled the front off track.

I needed my wifes small hands to try to re-seat it, instead she pulled it away from the rod (51438205810) and spring (51438163692), and now I'm really unsure of why it happened in the first place to unseat it and how the assembly goes back together.

Looking for some insight on both things. Thanks!

    Hello,
It's hard to work on that area with it in place. The cover assemblies can jump out of the track and it's hard to reinstall with the complete lateral in place. Might be easier to remove the lateral panel.
Disconnect the spring to the lateral rod cover. pop off the speaker cover by sliding it forward. remove the 1 T25 (I think) screw, remove the door gasket from the lateral area and using a plastic tool, pop the lateral towards the center of the car.
Then you can turn the entire thing over to check out all the parts.
I have a ton of vert parts cars so probably have any thing you may need.
Feel free to text me if you want

Thanks 6, I ordered the parts from Tischer, but I'll keep your offer in mind moving forward. I'm sure there will be more projects with the top. It's definitely not operating optimally at the moment.

Also just ordered the Bav Sound Stage 1 upgrade, so I'll be in the area anyway. I figured I was going to have to take some things apart.
