Hey guys I'm struggling to find the best way to go about finding a part. When I was involved in an accident this february I bent my right front strut housing and hub, which it looks like that part is now unavailable.
I am going to convert to coilovers so I will have to cut the hub from the rest of the housing and weld it, but mine is bent. Does anyone know where best to find something like this, since the hub and strut are all connected?
Someone’s always parting out an e34, keep your eyes peeled on the classifieds.
Why would you want to cut the hub from the strut? Normally the coilover mod involves sectioning a few inches from the middle of the tube.
south42 on the E34 Classifieds (closing soon) has been my go to when I was fixing two E34's. Send him a PM to see what he has.

I'm planning on having a welder do the work and the cut, I just misspoke about where it would be cut. Ended up striking a deal for an automatic 540i for sale with a blown valve body, I'll take the strut housing from that and use it.
Then I figure I'll rip the M60B40 out of it and drop it in to my 530i since it appears thats a very clean easy swap and an easy way to get a lot more power out of my car
Gotcha.
Yeah the b40 swap is the best route for power per dollar if you'll have it sitting around. Is your car auto or manual?
Mine is a manual, the 540 is automatic. Probably gonna get headers and a dinan 540 chip while its out too. Might replace the clutch as well, seen differing opinions on whether OEM is the best route to go. Getting an OEM sachs kit is my inclination unless I hear otherwise though. Overall I'm very excited, this is gonna be fun
