Greetings friends. My iDrive button is sticking. Like someone spilled coke or something down it. My wife and daughter both deny, deny, deny but that's a whole other thread. Anyways been thinking about replacing it (find something on ebay) or try cleaning it. Anyone else ran/done this with their F30? What did you do? Replace or clean?
Thank you in advance
RC
I always replace them here at work. The last thing you want to do is spray another liquid (cleaning solvent) all over it. And when I have tried it in the past, it never lasts long and always comes back.

If you have the widescreen navigation (called NBT) you can use this as an opportunity to upgrade to the touch controller with the bigger dial.

Again thank you for the replies. Yes I've seen this upgrade to the bigger dial. Don't necessarily need it but I've considered it.
So now WHERE to get a replacement? I'd be ok with just getting the same one just so long as it doesn't stick. It's pretty annoying.
I would identify which navigation system you have first. The bigger dial one isn't meant for the CIC system (not wide screen), but rather the widescreen NBT system. They have many differences.
Sometimes ebay is a good place for used parts, sometimes the local junk yard. These aren't expensive.

Looking around now for a replacement part.
Thanks again.
