I'm considering purchasing a used X3 from a dealer. It's a 2016 with roughly 23K miles. The car fax states that the car was in accident in December of 2016 and had the tow hook covers installed two months later. Any thoughts about a connection between these two events? Is this a car I should avoid?
Thanks for having a look at this post from a new member of the forum.
I'm sure what ever the cost is for the car your looking at...you can find one at that same price that hasn't had an accident

Get a pre purchase inspection I agree you can find one that has not been in an accident, keep looking
The dealership provided me with a copy of the invoice for the repair. The total was $735, which include parts and labor:
repaired and replaced right rear bumper cover
repaired and replaced lt quarter trim
replaced front tow hook cover
This sounds like a small fender bender, but dealerships have been know to be less than truthful, right?
Don't waste your time on a car that had a hit. Seriously. It's a pandora's box you don't want to open. Why settle for the low hanging fruit when there's one with no damage. Just because they spent $735 fixing it, doesn't at all mean they fixed everything. There may very well be things they didn't see and didn't fix, that will come back later to bite you in the butt. Don't do it!
