Where does this piece go? (Battery area)

Anybody knows where this plastic piece goes? I cant figure it, likely somewhere around the battery cause I found it there, but not sure. Thanks!

I’m not in my car at the moment but could it be the handle that goes on the battery in closure housing. The carpeted part that conceals the battery.

Thanks, but it's not that, I have the handle in place.

You're asking us what this part is...but as clarkitect suggests...just input the part number in one of the online part database sites to see what it is or where it goes or came from.

If you're not familiar with any online part database sites...try one or more of these:
    1. https://bimmercat.com/bmw
    2. https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/select
    3. http://bmwfans.info/parts-catalog/

The part number isn't completely legible in the pic you posted...but I can clearly see it (see area circled in red in pic below)...which is next to the other BMW info that shows when the piece was manufactured. It looks like the part number could be 61 10 8 364 948...try that in one of the sites above (double check the part to make sure that's the correct part number)...then paste or type that into the PART NUMBER search box.

Looks like the piece that covers the cable at the passenger side near the trunk hinge. Open the trunk and it's the place where all the leaves collect between the body and the weatherstrip. Look on the right of this pic copped from the interwebs.
