Whining differential?

Hey guys, I hear a whine coming from the back of the car whenever it is coasting in gear. 2013 328i RWD 6MT. Under load it nearly goes away or coasting in neutral. I'm guessing its the differential? Maybe due for a fluid change?

Maybe too late for a fluid change, but it is the differential.

Doubtful it's a wheel bearing. They don't whine when they start going bad, nor would the sound go away depending on load or coasting. Definitely sounds like it's the diff from your description. But I will say that most BMW's I can make whine if I try. The question is, how bad is it? Is it getting worse? Has it always been there?
