Hi , I need help ! My X3 2009 when a move the shifter doesn’t move and it move to soft now I did check the cable look ok , also the fluid transmission is ok what could that be

I'm not sure this applies to a BMW, but I had another make vehicle in the paste that the shifter would not move because the brake fuse went bad. Because you have to have the brake applied in order to shift, when the fuse is out the vehicle doesn't know you have your foot on the brake. Anyways something easy to check. Good luck
