Ok, so recently I have swapped some of my M52TUB28 bits for M54B30 ones, among which, the intake manifold. Didn't pay much attention to it then, especially since I mostly watched as someone else was doing this, but I was wondering.. Do the intake port on the 330 head differ from the 328 one? Common sense sense says they should, but thought I'd ask here.. I know the ports on the 330 manifold were definitely bigger, just wondering if that's the case with the head as well. If so, I should probably take the head off and make amends.
Cheers,
Gab
The ports in the head are "D" in shape. On the M52TUB intake they are "O". On the M54B30 intake they are "D" to match the head, so not need to do anything with the head.
The M54B30 intake is a good upgrade for the M52TUB28 engine.

Well, I guess this is both good and bad news. Good, no need to take the manifold off, and bad, no more free gains.
And yes, it's a very good mod for the M52tu, it definitely made a big difference.
