    AGM Battery?

Previous owner put in an AGM Battery a few weeks before I acquired the car in June of 2017. The battery just died.

Should I replace it with another AGM or?

    Thanks!

I thought AGM batteries were for stop/start enabled cars?

    I'd stick to Bosch S4 / S5 batteries.

I just heard word from my Mechanic and he also confirmed sticking to 'regular' batteries. Thank you very much for your input.

My M5 and 540i Touring both have Bosch S5 029 batteries and they're a beast of a battery.

In the touring they're in the right hand side of the boot floor. Arguably the worst and most awkward of places to have them.

    Good luck!

I’ve never had problems with AGM batteries.

I have 2 agm experiences - 2001 Yukon XL Optima agm first one 6 years - second one, 6 years, and still going - no issues at all. In the 2000 750 / two batteries from the dealer - one agm, one regular wet cell. Agm died after 2 years, and alternator soon after. Going back to a pair of wet cell old style in that setup.

I have AMG batteries in four BMWs and 1 Vespa, no issues, no challenges, on trickle chargers when not in daily Driver usage.
