Hi guys
I ended up cracking the sucking jet pump on my 99 750il and was shocked to learn a replacement part is nearly $200 !!!
The part number is 13531435603 and there doesn’t seem to be any aftermarket units available
I believe this part cost so much since it comes with 3 different hoses attached to it
I simply need the silly valve since mine cracked in half and I can reuse my hoses
I wanted to ask if anyone has been able to but the valve unit by itself and perhaps that price drastically lower than the $200
I believe the newer 3 and 5 series Bmw’s have a similar looking valve and it sells for a lot cheaper but I’m not sure if it’s internally the same
Any advice is welcomed
Thanks
Rick
I had to suck it up and brought a new one, there's no way around it, atleast my thought.

I just ordered a new fuel tank. OEM is $1700 fingers crossed with this $550 spectra tank.

Mine makes a sound similar to the start of the Red Hot Chili Peppers song...Parallel Universe. I can hear it now.
Xboss why the new tank?
I’m curious if it was damaged or issues with the inside lining?
I can’t believe the actual valve portion is any different from the other parts selling for less than $50 without all those hoses attached
Where do you find the 3-nipples valve?

Thanks for the explanation Xboss...I was not aware of these issues on the e38...
Is there a way to determine whether or not the vent is clogged? I will consider myself lucky then. I have not had gas odors and came have considered changing out the gas pump simply die to its age. The car has 120k and I believe its the original pump. I purchased the car at 80k. I came across a bosch pump for $135 and decided to purchase it and install as a preventative measure. I intend to pressure test the existing pump before I remove it...its kind of a PITA since the fuel doesnt have schrader valve.
The most obvious sign of a clogged vent filter is when you remove the gas cap you can hear air sucking into the tank, some guys reporting hearing the tank make contraction sounds as well. I guess what happens is that the charcoal filter for the gas tank vent can get filled with gas if you top up super duper full and then the canister starts to mush up and stops breathing.

Hi Jeff/all
I am able to find the similar looking valves on eBay for much less than $180 but I’m not certain if the valve works as the original one that cracked
Hi chrome
I did consider that option and hopefully the valves themselves function identical
I just can’t believe the price for the OE piece is nearly 7 times the 740 unit. I realize the 750 piece has extra hoses attached but certainly not an additional 150
I used the 740 part.
Our 750s have a hard line which I cut and attached to the smaller rubber hose from the replacement part.
The larger hose from the 750 is reused.
Both valves are identical.
IMO Pricing is based on engineering and production runs so it is what it is. All we can do is to work around it. Luckily we have alternatives as that valve is used in other models too.

Thanks Jeff. I was hoping to hear from someone that had tried replacing their unit with the 740 version
I feel more confident now ordering the less expensive piece and modifying it to fit the existing hoses on my 750
I believe I saw one on eBay for $18 and free shipping as well
Not Bmw some other aftermarket brand
