I tried searching for the answer before posting this but was unable to find the answer. I’m currently looking at purchasing a 97 M3 coupe. The vehicle I’m looking at does not have what’s referred to as the “Vader” seats. The seats in the vehicle also don’t have any “M striping” or badging. We’re the Vader seats an option for this model year? And if so were the other seats available just regular sport seats without badging? Thanks in advance.

The lux package cars came with non-vader sport seats, along with different side skirts, "puffy" door panels, a different front grill, no lower front lip, wood trim and chrome inner door handles.

Or, it could be one of the cars where they actually ran out of the correct leather. Those cars got the sport seats and a credit..

That was only in the sedans, and the difference was that they ended up with stripeless sport seats and a credit.

Sorry, missed the coupe part... op, if you have wood trim, it’s a lux.
