    Exclamation brake assembly bushing instal problem.

    hey i have these bushings that supposedly fit but
    turns out they don't. 1990 325i airbag car.

    They are from garagistic but assume they are all the same.

    Seems that they fit the clutch, but the left side of the clutch pedal has a stop so the bushing is alittle too long.

    BTW the stock oem bushing is totally perfect. It's actually the plastic pedal that was bending. oh well.

    The brake bushing is completely different though.
    i'm stumped beyond belief and can't find anything at all about this online.

    There is a slight taper down to the long part and the new aftermarket bushings don't even fit in the hole.
    like i said i'm super stumped and need to be on the road asap.
    Any comments at all would be a big help.

    can you shave the new one down enough to fit? its just that little bit too long, right? like 1/8th of an inch or so?

    ya but i'm just going to use to oem bushing since it's perfect and i ordered a different pedal.
    the one where you can put the normal bushings in.

    i can't find shit on that weird bushing must be a one off thing.

    Also, this is very strange.
    There are 2 types of pedals i guess.
    mine, the one that there is zero info on or even the existence of that strange bushing and the normal one.
    The hole is smaller and is tapered. btw it was floppier then shit.

    also, the my clutch pedal uses different bushings. not the one with the slit but a solid one. at least
    bmw did that right.

    I have one now. The super eta ended up becoming mine since my youngest son has a truck now.

    There are two types that i know of, and probably three, at least.

    I know there is a plastic assembly and a metal assembly but i bet there is also an assembly for the older 318s.

    Yours is a 90? I thought the newer cars had the plastic pedal assemblies. I thought the metal ones were 88 or 87 amd older? Maybe yours is swapped and that is why the bushings don't work?

    na you're thinking about the clutch. that's plastic.

    Also, don't get garagistic bushings. They're total garbage. They are too thick so they bind, and they are too loose so the bushing
    spins in the hole, the sleeve is supposed to spin. They don't know what they're doing over there. Straight up ripping people off with a product like this.

    put the oem bushings in everything is super tight and works like it should.
    idk why i bought these waste of money the oem bushings perfect after 30 years didn't even need to get new ones

    that weird that the garagistic ones are bad. I have tons of garagistic stuff on the kids cars and have not had any trouble with them. but, we have not had brake pedal issues. we had to do the clutch pedal ones and the garagistic ones were fine.
