    Pure Gas

So now that the government is going to allow 15% sugar (I mean Ethanol) to run through our engines, I thought I would post this again. It's an App you can put on IPhone or Android and it will lead you to the closest Ethanol free gas. Wherever you are. I've been using it since I redid my motor (entire fuel system with all injectors about five years ago and my M30 runs just perfect on it. I always used 93 octane in my car but the pure gas 90 octane is no difference at all. Never a single knock. Here's the site if you want to just look, but the App is great. You're driving somewhere and click the App when you need gas and it syncs with your phones map. I'll never put a drop of this 15% garbage in my tank.

I prefer ethanol, keeps the fuel system cleaner. In fact my Rover requires premium and thus is known for requiring fuel injection and fuel rail cleanings.

I think Ethanol is great for the farming communities, but not for cars. The first five years I owned my E32, when there was only pure gasoline, my car ran smoother and cleaner than it did since the early 2000's. I wish I had pictures of the old fuel rail and the injectors I threw away in 2014. We did this work just for the hell of having a good time and for me to learn a little about mechanics, but I disagree on the motor running cleaner with 10 or 15% sugar. Just my opinion. This REC 90 I've been using runs my M30 like the old days.

Its not sugar... its alcohol. There is nothing at all "sugar" about its chemical makeup. And there is science that backs up the facts that ethanol is a cleaner fuel, keeps fuel systems cleaner. Literally tons of science and truth. The problem can be when someone has ran pure gasoline for a long time, which DOES tarnish systems, then they put a tank of ethanol blend in. Which cleans the system of the thick tarnish. This can clog injectors, fuel filters, etc. That is the only reason ethanol got a bad rap.

I completely believe in your knowledge of Ethanol and how it cleans tarnished engines. I'm only speaking from my own experience in how my motor operates since I started to use straight gasoline again. Click on my YouTube in the signature and I think you'll see an M30 motor running as smooth as a 2010 Honda Accord. Not something you usually see. I can tell you that until I put the new injectors and fuel rail in and started to use real gasoline again I never had this motor running this as smooth. Not even when I bought the car in Feb of 1990. A rough idle was always explained to me as a crankshaft that traded off smoothness for power. I was told that over many years from more than one dealership. This has been my only daily driver since I'm forty. I'm seventy now, and it's doing better than I am. I only thought I'd post the Pure Gas web site in case some people wanted to try it out. I first learned that this gasoline existed just about the time we did over the motor and at the same time my Generator needed service just before the last hurricane. The guy who rebuilt the carburetor told me about the gum he found built up and that I should use ethanol free gasoline. I did and never had that problem again. I actually just filled 6 five gallon jugs for this hurricane season coming up. When October comes I just pour it in the E32. Anyway, my research on Wiki shows this. And as you know if Wiki states it, it has to be true.
    Regards
    Jeff

Ethanol is produced from biomass mostly via a fermentation process using glucosederived from sugars (sugar cane, sugar beet and molasses), starch (corn, wheat, grains) or cellulose (forest products) as raw materials

I can totally believe the M30 runs better on pure gasoline. The 190E I previously owned has its entire fuel system deteriorate because the ethanol in the fuel ate away at the internal gaskets and o-rings in the fuel distributor, causing all sorts of misfires, rough idling, power loss.

Not exactly the only reason -- phase separation, hygroscopy, and the fact that it destroys the rubber in older fuel systems (to wit: the o-rings on my M5's injectors; the rubber flex line on my 1957 Chevrolet, the carburetor floats, needles, and gaskets on the same car. Great for corn farmers, terrible for old car fuel systems.
