With all that was going on, a smoke test of the intake to ensure it is 100% sealed would be in order.

Congrats! Glad you got it solved. Definitely have the intake manifold smoke tested. You likely have multiple vacuum leaks.
Yeh i think a smoke test is in order. I have done all the other tests i can do myself including a home made smoke machine test with a fog machine and didnt find any leaks. But i understand the proper machine is more likely to find one.
Only thing is all i hear is vacuum leaks would make it run rich?
Think i should just add now as itll probably help you understand or figure out whats happening. I have fitting a supercharger to this, the set up is-
323i
M50 manifold
36lb injectors
Sc14 supercharger running around 6-7psi
Intercooler so - 2ish psi
328 exhuast still with cat
Aem wideband sensor
Order of the equipment is
Air filter > maf > icv outlet > throttle body > supercharger > intercooler > m50 manifold.
I have also got a couole tunes from Fekzen (not sure if you know him) but hes done loads of these set ups. So pretty sure its not the tune.
Hopefully this shines some more like. Sorry jumping on this as i have a couple clued up people involved who can hopefully help as i am out of ideas now.

I don't like out of the box tunes on these cars without a dyno session to determine the proper set-up.
On a newish car, you can use a stock tune, for most parts are still well within stock parameters. When a motor ages, things get a bit looser, and you will need to have this taken into consideration.
