Greetings friends. Been a while since I posted. I had a 135i but had to get a 4 door. I'm the proud owner of a F30 now.
I noticed the door handles are peeling. I have the Melbourne Red Metallic paint and its very noticeable. Anyone use the carbon covers from ebay? Do you recommend replace the entire door handle? What have others done for this? Just started doing my research but wanted to see what others have done IF they've had this problem. Seems like a known issue. Thank you in advance

The outer door handles? If they're peeling, they've probably been painted before. I've never seen any factory paint peel off, and I've been a dealership tech for over 13 years.

Yes its the outer door handles. I don't think they've been painted before. Looks like the clear coat is what's actually peeling.
Inner door handle grip melting with hand lotion use is common, but external handle peeling is unusual.

Thank you. Well now deciding either 1) replace the entire handle which will be challenging to match the EXACT paint 2) get the carbon overlays and hope they look good or 3) Have a body shop paint the handles and again hope they match perfect. I also thought about getting them wrapped but I've gone down the wrap route before and I found that wrapping is just as expensive as paint. And if that's the case I'd rather have paint all day long.
