    Hydraulic filter

I am talking about the small filter sitting on the front side of my M70 engine. It is filtering the hydraulic oil (pentosin) in my power steering. The filter cartridge is supposed to be the one with a metal mesh around it, but I don't know for sure since I never opened the filter container. I have difficulties to open it. I have bought a new filter but it is of the kind with out the metal mesh around it, it is much cheaper. My question is will it possibly fit, does anyone know.

I totally mixed this up! I did buy the pentosin filters some time ago. The small filter is the correct one, but I can't open the brass cup holding the filter. So my question is can I use the cheaper brownish filter and 2 rubber rings instead of the expensive filter with a perforated metal wrapping around it as it is shown at RealOem.com. My car has the ASC+T pentosin tank. Will the cheaper filter fit. Maybe some one already has tried it.

Use the part # I gave you above.
Remove the small bell shaped filter entirely from the front lower engine area, 2 pan bolts and both line connections.
use a bench vise and proper wrenches to unscrew the bell.
    Replace filter, reassemble, and reinstall.
Not wise to ignore this filter...
