    Temp Gauge Stop Working

When I got the car the temp gauge needle would only get to the end of the blue but reading DME it shows it’s at operating temperature. Then a month later it stays below blue won’t move at all again checked DME and engine is running at operating temperature. I then did a gauge sweep thinking it was the gage but all gauge needles do the full sweep. I then got a 7/8 wrench cut in half and replaced the sensor on the head between cylinders 5 & 6 but still gauge not working. Being summertime I feel more comfortable knowing what the engine temperature is but it’s getting annoying traveling with a tablet hooked through obd. I really need to figure this out. What am I overlooking? Any help will be greatly appreciated thanks in advance.
