So much closer now to pull on the trigger on either an E70 or F15... Similar to our favor Realoem.com, Is there a website you can plug a Vin number in that'll tell you all the equipment that particular vehicle has on it? Much appreciated!

Shogun tricks and tips for the E32 series are HERE!
In addition to the site shogun posted (actually my favorite VIN decoding site of late)...here's a few more. I would recommend bookmarking/saving all of them in case one or more are down for maintenance or other issues at the very time you need the info they provide:
- www.mdecoder.com
- http://bimmer.work
- https://bimmercat.com/bmw/EN/vin/decoder/online (this site also has a great part database...just like www.realoem.com)

After you get the build sheet, you can check the Pricing Guide and Ordering Guide for more information about the standard and optional items, which parts belong to "packages", which options require others or cannot be combined, and what the list prices were.
Here are the Guides for the 2016 X5 F15, gas and hybrid, four PDF documents about 330KB each (Links to a Dropbox public folder).
I only have these four - the guides for other models and years are out there somewhere.

**UPDATE**
So I pulled the trigger on a 2013 E70 Premium. Initial indications are [just from a pure driving standpoint] that I am going to enjoy the hell out of this thing!
This transmission is especially exciting! Anyway, in wanting to be proactive relative to any well known maintenance issues [she has 70k on the clock] is there anything I should be aware of around this mileage that I can be ahead of?
Also does anyone know the difference between the X5 E70 and the X5 E70 "LCI"?? In looking for part numbers, Real OEM lists two model numbers [see attached screen shot below]
While I'm on it, are there any floor mats [no third row so I will need a cargo mat] anyone can recommend? I'm looking for black rubber type...
Thanks in advance!

LCI = life cycle impulse
With the new generation BMWs...the term LCI is used instead of "facelift". I see that you have or had an e39 540i...and the use of LCI is the same thing as the facelift for the 2001-2003 e39...with the 1997-2000 being the "pre-facelift" models.
Also, the "40" after the 5 indicates that you have the V8 engine. Not using the suffix after your X5...makes it vague as to which of the multiple e70 X5 models you have. It would be like only writing my e39 5 series when communicating on the e39 forums. At some point you would ask a question and someone would have to ask WHAT model do you have (in regards to engine/transmission/gas/diesel/etc).
