    No drill front plate bracket?

What's the best no drill mount for the front license plate on Z3 M Coupe?

I'm seeing a lot of tow hook versions, but don't want to wind up with a generic one size "fits" all that might not fit as well as it could.

    Thanks for any recommendations!

If I lived in a state with front plates I would seriously consider registering the car out of state. Front plates look terrible on all sports cars.

SC doesn't have front plates and needs your tax money...

Funny thing the car is actually currently registered out of state. Trying to get it inspected and titled in CA though. I don't mind the front plates, but since it isn't drilled, would like to keep it that way. If it was drilled this would be a whole lot easier.

Anyone have a high quality mount suggestion?

Don't even bother installing it. I've lived in Kalifornia my whole life, and I haven't had a front plate installed on my cars for maybe 30 years. I got stopped once about 15 years ago and got a warning. The M coupe has been registered in Kalifornia for 7 years (and I've put almost 70K miles on it) without a front plate.

I don't think you need a front plate to be able to have it inspected or titled in CA?

They do, but to use them you have to buy the dorky OEM license plate mount, which bends the license plate. No thanks!

Interesting thing to worry about. Wouldn't you rather the plate conform to the bumper, rather than sticking out and being... dorky looking?

My state requires front plates as well, neither my Z or daily driver have one. I've been stopped once in 6 years and that was in my daily. My daily is a Chrysler 300 with window tint that is darker than legal. Cop stopped me because I had two obvious issues.

I drove in VA without a front plate for 7 years with no problem. A friend (who is black) decided to take his front plates off after I told that I never put front plates on. He was stopped twice and given 2 tickets within a week of taking his front plates off.

So, if you are at risk of being profiled it's probably not a great idea.

    I use this one: https://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-3...6-e39/?pdk=AQE

Solid construction, looks good, approved by Johnny Law.

    Great, Thank you!

The ECS link you sent says incompatible with E36/8.

    This version says compatible: https://www.ecstuning.com/b-gmg-moto...acket/g-bmw45/

Looks like studs are different lengths in photos. Should I go with the E36 one, or is the link you posted a better fit for M Coupe?

In the UK front plates are required, but I found the OEM mount too bulky. I just removed the mount, and attached the plate directly to the bumper, using the holes that the mount should attach to. The plate bends to match the curve of the bumper and looks a lot better.

    4 BMWs.
I would say the stock one is the best. You don't have to drill holes on any Z3 bumper as the plate holder holes are threaded in.

I will be following this as I can't get thru the yearly safety inspection without a front plate.

Followup. I bought the Z3 model (BMW45) listed on GMG's website directly from them. Installed and fits fine. Yeah
