    M50 low compression stroker combination?

what is the lowest CR that can be achieved with certain combination of stock parts often used to increase capacity.

Engine is m50 nv. Being converted to turbo and looking at stroker combos to both low CR and increase CC's

So far I've seen m54 crank and pistons m50 rods for 3.0l and around the 10:1''s compression with standard HG
So still need to be decompressed with a thicker HG.

    Thanks

I havn't done the math on it for awhile, but something you might want to look into is an M54B30 crank and rods, and M54B25 pistons. I have a set in my shop and I figured it would be like 9:1. Like I said its been awhile so do the math yourself

Thanks, I can do the maths I just don't know about all the interchangeable m.. parts.
But yer, if the m54 30 stuff ticks both boxes, easy to get parts I'll start there.

I was hoping for a combo that'll drop into the 8:1's with standard HG. Wishful thinking lol

are the any stock pistons that have enough meat on them to be machining on the crown to lower cr or do not cope with this? This m50 build wants a stern 550+

Do we just commit to a forged piston from the get go. It more than likely won't get stroked in this case.

You could do m54b30 pistons with m52b28 pistons which would be like 8.1, but that is stupid low compression.

The budget option that we have been having great success with is an m52b28 crank and pistons, and m50 non vanos rods. Does great up and over 800 whp on E85, but you would need the cutring and spacer combo for pump gas.

Something you might consider is an m54b30 crank and pistons, and 133mm length rods from Prism in Poland. That way you kill two birds with one stone, you get lower compression and better rods

Hi, do you mean m54b30 rods and pistons with a b28 crank?
I'm not sure where to learn this info but I've been thinking about it for a while. Currently I have a m50b25 NV that's done 320,000kms and needs a freshen up. Right now I don't have too much time and was just thinking of a straight stroker 54b30 crank, rods and pistons and keeping it n-a with a chip tune. But later my plan was for forced induction with new ECU system and thought all I would need to do was keep b30 pistons and rods but just change the b30 crank for a b28 crank.
I can't remember where I came to that solution but after reading what you posted would it be worth keeping any m50b25 NV parts to put back in? I was looking at a smaller turbo (RHD problems right?) and a CR of just under 9:1
