    My Thoughts on a 2018 330i xdrive Base, 17's

Fast enough, smooth enough, but lacking in the suspension department. The less said about the electric steering, the better

Solution to suspension would be trade in on a M2 but wife would have my guts for garters.

Meh, the electric steering is very good, and has very good response. Relaxed in comfort mode, and very sporty in sports modes. At higher speeds it really tightens up and keeps it firm. Other manufacturers haven't programmed it to be this good.

It's more reliable than the hydraulic systems with whiny pumps and leaky tanks.

    F30s aren't bad at all.

I'm confused, but I see this all the time on this and other car forums... why does your wife get to tell you what car to buy? If you can't afford it, you should be the one that tells yourself not to buy it. If you can afford it, why does your wife get to tell you what you get to buy for yourself?

And before you say it, yes, I was married, the only time my wife said anything is if we didn't actually have the money for something (which means I should have checked myself anyways) - if we had the money for it, whatever it was she never said anything. My girlfriend is the same now. I make the decisions about my purchases in all my relationships.

Not picking on you specifically, but this seems to be so common: "my wife won't let me do it". Like, what? Are so many guys that pussy-whipped or is it just another way of say "actually, we can't really afford it / it's not a wise use of our money", but without losing face?

On topic, I don't think I will ever buy a BMW with that garbage electric steering.... if all the cars go that way I'm going to switch brands. I'm getting a new(ish) car this month and it will be a 2014 X1 instead of an F30 3 series specifically because of this issue.

I stand corrected! Apparently my Sport setting was configured for Driveline only. Somehow, Chassis got de-selected. Sport Chassis is back in action and being enjoyed.
