    Unhappy Front caliper removal

I'm having a problem removing the front caliper on my '13 X3. I loosened it using a #7 bit but the bolt won't come out of the sleeve. What am I doing wrong?

The pads are probably still clamping the rotor. Take a decent size screwdriver and put it thru the center hole in the caliper, into one of the slots on the rotor and pull toward you a little. Doesn't need much, just enough to get the pads over the little lip on the rotor.

The outside pad is flopping but the caliper isn't coming off the bracket because the bolts aren't sliding out.

The slide pins tend to stick in the rubber sleeves. Maybe if you pull them out a little, they'll clear the threads completely. Either that, or the caliper is seized on the sliding pins.

Try grabbing the recessed allen key bolt with a needle nose pliers to pull out. You'll need to get it moved a little to grab it with the pliers.
