The 2002 M3 has been sitting for a bit due to an SMG issue, getting back to looking at it and a new problem popped up, starts up, revs up and down a few times till it dies. checked the idle posistion sensor, ohms out well for the most part, has a few drops but nothing horrible.
Codes from INPA (google translated to english)
any ideas on whats going on?

And if you clear all the codes, and go for a re-start, do they come back?

we reset and the codes returned. swapped the battery with a new one, reset again and tall the codes went away other than a temp sensor need to road test to see if it holds, fingers crossed!
Yeah, a weak battery can cause funky problems with the electrical systems on these cars.
How old was the battery?

Hard to say, battery was with the car.
Most of the time, there will be a date stamp either on top or the side of the battery. Mox-nix as the Germans say, for you have a new battery now.
Did you check to see what the alternator output is/was?
