There were many available engines in a 2013 5 series, so you need to specify. Next step after that is the question of are there any warning lamps on? Check engine light? Drivetrain malfunction, etc? Then, whether or not there are any warning lamps on, you still need to run a full diagnostic inquiry with a capable BMW specific scan tool. This does not mean a cheap OBDII code reader. Report back with all that information, then maybe we can give some assistance.
Or, if you're not comfortable with that, have the car towed to a reputable BMW specialist shop, or dealership, for a proper diagnosis.
