Hi,
I have a 2006 BMW X5 E53 Deisel with the following intermittent issue:
When I go to start the car it sometimes starts but immediately stops. Then I try to start it again at it will crank like it wants to start but fails. After a few attempts it will eventually start and once running the car operates like normal with no loss of power. When it fails to start the following error message shows up on the screen “Fuel inject.system”. Once the car starts the error disappears??
So far my mechanic has changed the following parts but the problem still exists:
Replaced all the glow plugs
Replaced the control module

After running the diagnostic computer the following error codes appear:
4212 Glow plug cylinder 1 Activation
4212 Glow plug cylinder 2 Activation
4212 Glow plug cylinder 3 Activation
4212 Glow plug cylinder 4 Activation
4212 Glow plug cylinder 5 Activation
4212 Glow plug cylinder 6 Activation

Any ideas please reply??
