Hello Everyone. Just a Newbie on the Bimmerforums. I知 also a VWVortex Member aswell. Best of both worlds. Lol
Just purchased a E92 M3 Competition Package. Dope car very clean and well maintained! Looking to find a Certified BMW Mechanic here that knows the car well! I知 looking to do some preventative maintenance and I feel that the dealer will bite me from behind! I知 located in Queens NY and I rather pay the working man directly! Thanks
Moved to the model specific sub-forum.
I also copied this to the NY/NJ Regional sub-forum... hope you get some input!

Somebody lol Anybody would like to do the rod bearings on my car?
There is a shop in NJ that does a lot. Probably a few shops there. Not sure about NYC.
What shops would that be?
This forum is not very active. Try M3post. There is a long rod bearing thread. RSW and ACM are a couple in NJ and there are probably more.
Depending on the mileage of the car, your main concern will be to properly maintain the throttle actuators.
These fail much more often than the rod bearings and BMW has no fix for it - due to the nature of their design (they get dirty). When they fault, you just have to spend the $2500-$3000 to replace them (and they will fail again once they get dirty enough).
To keep them going, you need to clean them. You will either need to learn to get to them yourself and clean both sides or find a shop to do it for you.
Aside from the throttle actuators and rod bearings, just keep an eye on oil level (thirsty lady), and the engine is bullet proof.
