    Red face Newbie,

Just got an 87 325i. Hate to be this way, but I’m desperate! Car was running great since we got it 2 weeks ago. Was driving home from the store and while driving, engine shut off, pulled over, car restarted and ran...this happened total of three times over a mile and a 1/2 to home. Stalled pulling in the driveway, would restart but not stay running. Left it alone for an hour. Now, it cranks but won’t start. Sounds strong...desperate for some help. Been out of a job, don’t have the extra $$$ to take it to the shop. I’m at best a 1/2 ass mechanic...any advice?

    No e30s, again :(
Check your fuel pump. Take the line off the tegulator, at the front of the intake, little black round thing with a skinny hose going to passenger side and a larger hose going to driver side. Take it off and see if fuel comes out.

Sounds like it might be that but need to do somw checks first
    No e30s again.

As Superj said, definitely a fueling issue, either pump or FPR.

I would be checking fuel pressure and fuel delivery (volume). There was a thread here about a guy who had rust/debris in his fuel tank that seemed to be the root of his fuel issues, but hard to diagnose at first

Failed fuel pump relay. Had to make a trip to the BMW dealership to get the relay. $32 and we are back running!
Thank you for all the help!
