Dyno Results - DUDMD Base Tune

Had the car dyno'd today. Only changes from stock is the resonator delete, muffler, and DUDMD base tune. Sadly the stock dyno file got deleted, but made 245 to the wheels last time. I'm happy with the results.

    1st pull in 4th.
    2nd pull in 5th.
    3rd pull in 4th again.

I run a DUDMD tune in my X5D. Makes great power and still retains 30mpg

When you did it in 4th did he change the gear ratio in his dyno software?

Hard to compare pulls on different cars on different dynos in different part of the country. I had mine done years ago when it was stock, 250 at the wheels in 5th.

    Here's your old post....245HP

And as usual, no reply from 97.1 on his inflated claims of a bazillion HP claims.

Thank you Jim. Didn't change ratios in the software. Didn't even think of that. What I meant by "deleted the old dyno" was the shop. That or they didn't save it.

Honestly I'm really happy with everything Dima has done. Not going to do anything else power wise until next year.

Dima is a champ! I run his tunes in my car too, and the car's a blast to drive. My buddies call the car "the auto tranny M5".
Shame you ditched the resonator, you'd be making more power and more tq

DUDMD Tuning is a great shop. Dima and Ben have been performing a lot maintenance on my car, as it has become a little "needy" the past year and a half. Solid work and very reasonable, I am blessed to have them not far from me. The even installed Eibach anti-roll bars for me last year.
2001 540 M-Sport (cdn), ST X (KW) coilovers, H&R 15mm spacers, Eibach anti roll bars (28mm/18mm), Beastpower rear antiroll bar brackets, M5 rear chassis reinforcements (traction rods), Strong Strut front upper strut bar, Dinan Stage 1 software, factory M-Audio subs, Bavsound speaker upgrade, Bluebus bluetooth integration, Stop Tech SS brake lines, ATE coated brake rotors, ATE ceramic brake pads.

Yea I'm very pleased with how it all turned out. Think I reality lost power and torque by removing the stock resonator and installing the Magnaflow resonator?

I've got some dyno sheets for my 01 540i somewhere at home.. I should post those up. I also had the DUDMD tune and just a muffler delete/high flow res.

I'd definitely be curious to see how we compared.

I actually realized I had the dyno sheets in my maintenance folder that I gave away when I sold the car... But I did record the numbers in my build thread. So here they are:

    "Silver 2001 540i 6 speed with DUDMD tune ran 238 hp / 263 tq WHP and ran the 1/4 14.1 @ 96 MPH. (164k stock guides/vanos)"

Thank you for the info. Most folks have said I have a very healthy M62tu and the "quietest they have ever heard" so I am definitely happy to see these numbers. Contemplating headers next, but of course those are crazy expensive for our cars.

You should hit a drag strip some time and see what you can trap with that tune. No need for trying to get a good launch and make a quick E.T., just smoothly off the line and let 'er eat. The trap speed tells what your relative amount of average horsepower was through the quarter mile.

I'll have to find a drag strip. The one in San Diego was closed last year sadly.
